Alan GreerUpon graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in 1961, Alan G. Greer went on to serve in the U.S. Navy through 1967. Subsequently, he excelled on the LSAT and later acquired Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Florida in 1969, leading him to commence his career in law with Richman, Greer PA in Miami, Florida, now known as Day Pitney, LLC. Today, Mr. Greer serves the firm as a partner and senior counsel, of which he specializes in complex commercial and political litigation. Notably, Day Pitney has 13 offices throughout the country and concentrates its practice on eight specific industries, including financial services, intellectual property and technology, and real estate and environmental.

Mr. Greer has been admitted to practice by the Florida, New York, and D.C. Bar Associations, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Ninth, 11th, D.C., Federal Circuits and the Supreme Court of the United States. While practicing, Mr. Greer has enjoyed many experiences and accomplishments, including the opportunity to be involved in the controversial Watergate case during the early stages of his career. Many years later, he was honored to represent Al Gore and the Florida Democratic Party in Bush vs. Gore in 2000.

Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Greer has taught legal courses at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and chaired the WLRN Public Radio and TV station, which he finds to be a very important service to the community. In addition, he was active on the board of directors for Probono.net and Camillus House. He also co-chaired the site selection committee of the Democratic National Committee, chaired the Dade County Council for Arts and Sciences and, among other commitments, was a member of the Florida State Task Force on Water Issues and the Governor’s Business Advisory Council on Education. Additionally, Mr. Greer has authored “Choices & Challenges, Lessons in Faith, Hope and Love” and “God Is.”

Notably, Mr. Greer has been featured in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, Law Dragon and Florida Trend on multiple occasions. He has also been bestowed with a Jurisprudence Award from the Anti-Defamation League in 2018, the David W. Dyer Award for Professionalism from the Dade County Bar Association in 2016 and was named as the Board-Certified Lawyer of the Year by the Florida Bar in 2008. AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, he is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and International Society Barristers.
